See expert injectors treat the face, neck and body live, then debate their choices
The Behind the Syringe injectables course captures an October 2025 evening of didactics and live demonstrations by Rod Rohrich, Jeffrey Kenkel, Sachin Shridharani, Kian Karimi, Dendy Engelman and George Baxter Holder — neurotoxin for upper and lower face, PRF after filler dissolution, PLLA, hyperdilute CaHA, needle-versus-cannula comparisons, Kybella and Sculptra body contouring.

The programme
Toxin and filler essentials
Jeffrey Kenkel opens with a primer on fillers and toxins, followed by George Baxter Holder injecting neurotoxin into the upper face. The basics session sets shared vocabulary for dosing, landmarks and product choice before the advanced demonstrations begin.
Lower-face neurotoxin, taught then injected
Kenkel explains how neuromodulators are used below the midface, and Rod Rohrich then treats a model live. Pairing the lecture with an immediate demonstration makes pattern mapping and placement depth easy to connect.
PRF, albumin-PRF & volume after dissolving filler
Kian Karimi describes his preferred practice with platelet-rich fibrin and albumin-PRF, including restoring volume immediately once hyaluronic acid filler has been dissolved. It is a useful segment for clinicians who manage patients unhappy with previous treatment.
Pan-facial biostimulation in the Behind the Syringe injectables course
Rohrich and Engelman treat from the décolletage upward with hyperdilute calcium hydroxyapatite and poly-L-lactic acid. The demonstration shows how biostimulators can be planned across regions rather than injected point by point.
Needle or cannula for temple, jawline & chin
Two head-to-head segments set a cannula injector against a needle injector, first at the temple and then along the jawline and chin. Watching both tools on the same region clarifies the practical trade-offs each faculty member weighs.
Injectable body contouring
The final session moves below the neck with deoxycholic acid (Kybella) delivered by Shridharani and PLLA (Sculptra) body treatment by Engelman and Holder. Short panel discussions after each session capture faculty reasoning and audience questions.
Who it’s for
- Aesthetic physicians watch neurotoxin, filler and biostimulator technique demonstrated on live models
- Dermatologists compare needle and cannula approaches for temple, jawline and chin
- Plastic and facial plastic surgeons add PRF and body-contouring injectables to surgical practice
- Advanced injectors refresh their approach with a concise evening of expert demonstrations
The consult
Is the recording split into separate lectures?
No — it is a single continuous video of the whole evening, so individual talks and demonstrations are found by scrolling through the timeline rather than as separate files.
How much of it is live injection?
Most of it — after two short opening remarks and two didactic talks, the bulk of the programme is live treatment on models, with brief discussion blocks closing each session.
Are complications discussed?
Safety is woven through the demonstrations, and the PRF segment covers restoring volume after dissolving filler. It is a short meeting, though, so it is not a full complication-management curriculum.
Is this suitable for first-time injectors?
The level is intermediate to advanced. Watching demonstrations does not replace supervised hands-on training, which beginners should complete before treating patients.
How do I get the video after purchase?
The recording is released to you instantly after payment, and you can return to it whenever you like.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Derma Academy provides the course files only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included.
