Sharpen filler and neuromodulator judgement with a five-expert panel
The cosmetic injection nuances course brings five aesthetic specialists together to discuss temple, midface and lower-face anatomy, septa and retaining ligaments, insertion points and danger zones, then turns to skin preparation, biofilm prevention, antiseptic choices and sterility as the groundwork for safer filler and neurotoxin treatment.

The programme
Temples, midface & lower face anatomy
The live session from January 2024 divides the face into three treatment zones and explains how septa and ligaments shape each contour. Understanding these boundaries clarifies where product spreads and where complications are more likely.
Landmarks, insertion points & high-risk areas
Faculty highlight the surface landmarks and entry points they rely on for different injection techniques. Location-specific anatomy and patient evaluation are linked to identifying the zones that demand extra caution.
Skin preparation in the cosmetic injection nuances course
The second session centres on preparing the patient before any needle or cannula touches the skin. Makeup removal, antiseptic solutions, alcohol and hypochlorous products are compared as ways to reduce biofilm contamination.
Sterility, adverse events & clinical pearls
Maintaining a sterile field throughout treatment is presented as a core safety habit. The panel also shares practical tips for preventing and handling adverse events with fillers and neuromodulators in everyday practice.
Who it’s for
- Aesthetic injectors review ligament-based anatomy before treating temples, midface and jawline
- Facial plastic surgeons hear how experienced faculty approach non-surgical rejuvenation and its risks
- Clinic leads tighten skin-preparation and sterility protocols across the team
The consult
What format does the teaching take?
Two long recorded discussions: a live session of about three and a half hours on anatomy and technique, and a second session of 1 hour 20 minutes on injectable nuances and preparation.
Is the content broken into short lessons?
No. With only two lessons, each plays as an extended panel conversation, so it suits viewers comfortable with longer recordings rather than bite-sized clips.
Who are the faculty?
Christopher Surek is joined on the panel by Douglas Steinbrech, Ashley Amalfi, David Funt and Jordan Rihani for both recorded discussions.
Does it include hands-on demonstrations of each area?
The outline describes discussion of anatomy, landmarks and insertion points rather than a sequence of filmed treatments for every region. It does not replace supervised injection training.
When does access begin?
The moment your payment is confirmed, and you can rewatch both sessions whenever you like.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Derma Academy provides the course files only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included.
