Rebuild the nose with rib cartilage, from primary humps to staged forehead flaps
The Katrib rhinoplasty reconstruction series follows Ziad Katrib across ten narrated cases in which component hump reduction, donor and autologous rib spreader grafts, septal extension and replacement grafts, lateral crural steal and replacement, total tip reconstruction and two-, three- and four-stage paramedian forehead flaps are performed on primary, revision and post-cancer noses.

The programme
Structural primary rhinoplasty
Three primary cases spend more than eight hours on large humps, deviated septa and bulbous or plunging tips. Osteotomies, nasal bone suture fixation, midvault rebuilding with donor rib, folded septal extension grafts, radix grafting and PRF membrane camouflage are shown in full.
Tip control without excess grafting
Suture-only refinement, cranial tip sutures, lateral crural steal and medial crural overlap illustrate how much shaping can be achieved before adding cartilage. A tension-nose patient with thin skin shows the same tools applied where every irregularity would show.
Saddle nose & the cocaine-damaged septum
A thirty-six-year-old with a subtotal perforation and severe saddle deformity receives harvest of three ribs with perichondrium preserved, reconstruction of an absent caudal septum and diced rectus fascia. The case bridges the primary and revision volumes in difficulty.
Systematic revision in the Katrib rhinoplasty reconstruction series
Three revision patients over nine hours present saddle noses, overrotated tips and retracted columellas after earlier surgery. Rib and fascia harvest, ninth-rib septal extension or replacement, raised spreaders, external valve repair and total tip rebuilding restore support and length.
Bony work & camouflage in secondary noses
Asymmetric osteotomies, power tools and a hand saw move the bony pyramid in the most severe revision. Supratip scar management, control sutures and ultra-diced fascia and cartilage are used to smooth the bridge, tip and midvault.
Staged forehead flap reconstruction
The third volume follows three skin-cancer defects through every stage, including a melanoma resection and a full-thickness alar loss rebuilt with folded lining. Rib framework, batten grafts, flap thinning, pedicle division, nostril retainers and the tip subunit principle are each demonstrated.
Who it’s for
- Rhinoplasty surgeons deepen structural grafting with rib cartilage in primary and secondary noses
- ENT and facial plastic surgeons combine airway function with aesthetic tip and dorsal work
- Reconstructive surgeons plan multi-stage forehead flaps for large nasal defects
- Fellows and residents watch complex cases narrated from harvest to final inset
The consult
How is the footage divided between the three volumes?
Volume 1 holds four primary cases of over eight hours, Volume 2 three revisions of over nine hours, and Volume 3 three forehead-flap reconstructions of over six hours; each opens with an introduction.
Does the series rely mainly on rib cartilage?
Rib grafting is central, including donor rib in primary cases and harvest of seventh to ninth ribs, but septal, ear cartilage and fascia grafts also feature.
Are subtitles available?
Yes — English subtitle files and audio accompany the HD operative videos.
Is it aimed at surgeons starting rhinoplasty?
The cases are advanced, especially the revisions and flaps. The series supports trained surgeons and does not replace supervised operative experience.
When do the volumes become available to me?
All three volumes open as soon as your purchase is confirmed, and you can return to them indefinitely.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Derma Academy provides the course files only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included.
