Compare preservation, structural and hybrid rhinoplasty at the dissection table
The rhinoplasty cadaver lab course captures two full days recorded in Porto, where an international panel including Nazim Cerkes, Wolfgang Gubisch, Olivier Gerbault and Sam P. Most combines lectures, operative video and step-by-step cadaver dissection with faculty debates on nasal access, bony-vault instruments and tip control.

The programme
From reduction to structure
Day one traces how rhinoplasty moved away from aggressive cartilage excision, which weakened tip support and the domes, toward structural thinking that respects native architecture. The discussion explains why older reductive methods often led to tip descent and later grafting.
Preservation versus classic hump removal
Day two contrasts dorsal preservation with conventional hump resection, acknowledging that both can perform well. Presenters explain how septal anatomy, aesthetic goals and individual features guide the choice, and one surgeon reflects on how their own preservation practice has evolved.
Dissection demonstrations in the rhinoplasty cadaver lab course
Didactic talks are interleaved with step-by-step cadaver dissections that expose the anatomical relationships behind predictable results. Seeing the same structures opened on specimens helps surgeons recognise variation before they encounter it in theatre.
Faculty panels on access, bone & tip
Three panel sessions let faculty set their preferred approaches side by side: how they gain nasal access, which instruments they use on the bony framework and how they shape and secure the tip. Question-and-answer segments open these debates to participant queries.
Functional and aesthetic integration
Throughout both days, the faculty link airway considerations to cosmetic objectives, showing how septal work, support and contour decisions interact. Operative video complements the cadaver work by placing each concept back into the clinical setting.
Who it’s for
- Rhinoplasty surgeons weigh preservation, structural and hybrid philosophies from several masters at once
- Facial plastic surgeons and otolaryngologists revisit nasal anatomy through detailed cadaver dissection
- Plastic surgeons compare instrument choices for the bony vault and strategies for tip control
- Surgical trainees see how senior surgeons justify technique selection in open debate
The consult
Why are there only two lessons?
Each lesson is an entire meeting day of more than six hours, so navigation within a day is by scrubbing through the recording rather than choosing short chapters.
Is it a 2025 or a 2026 course?
The product carries a 2026 title, while the recordings come from the 2025 Art and Craft of Rhinoplasty meeting held in Porto, Portugal.
Which faculty take part?
Seven surgeons teach across the two days. José Carlos Neves and Miguel Gonçalves Ferreira are joined by Nazim Cerkes, Enrico Robotti, Olivier Gerbault, Wolfgang Gubisch and Sam P. Most for lectures, dissections and panels.
Will it overlap with other rhinoplasty recordings?
Some faculty, including Enrico Robotti, also appear in separate rhinoplasty products, and other multi-speaker rhinoplasty meetings exist. Concepts may recur, but this Porto footage is its own recording.
Is access time-limited?
No. Both days open right after checkout and remain in your account permanently.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Derma Academy provides the course files only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included.
