Dissolve overfilled lips with a consent-led hyaluronidase protocol

The programme
When a reversal is indicated
After an introduction from Dr Pearce, the opening lessons define which presentations justify dissolving lip filler electively. They also explore how patients tend to feel about undoing earlier work, which shapes the tone of the whole appointment.
Consultation, photography & informed consent
A structured consultation is broken into steps: gathering history, taking standardised photos, obtaining consent and summarising the plan back to the patient. The included forms let clinicians adapt the same paperwork to their own clinic.
Allergy testing before the lip filler reversal course injection
A dedicated walkthrough demonstrates the intradermal test and how a negative response is confirmed before treatment proceeds. This safety step is presented as a routine part of the protocol rather than an optional extra.
Hyaluronidase preparation, dose & placement
Practical lessons cover reconstituting the enzyme, deciding how much to use, applying anaesthetic and choosing where and how to inject. A final segment describes what clinicians should expect when performing their first reversal.
Retreatment timing & difficult questions
Bonus answers address how often dissolving can be repeated, when a second attempt is reasonable, when refilling may follow and who covers the cost of repeat sessions. One answer also considers correcting work done by another practitioner.
Who it’s for
- Physicians and dentists who inject lips and want a repeatable elective dissolving routine
- Nurse practitioners and physician assistants formalise consent, testing and aftercare paperwork
- Clinicians seeing dissatisfied patients manage expectations before and after a reversal
- Trainee injectors build hyaluronidase handling into their wider filler toolkit
The consult
Does the course cover emergency vascular occlusion?
No — the lessons concentrate on planned dissolving of overfilled lips; high-dose emergency protocols for occlusion are not among the listed topics.
What do the PDFs contain?
The three downloads are practice documents such as a consent form, a safety checklist and aftercare instructions to give patients.
How long are the lessons?
Twenty lessons share about 1 hour 42 minutes, so most are brief, focused segments you can revisit before a specific step in clinic.
Is legal advice on correcting another injector’s work included?
One bonus answer discusses the question in general terms; it is not a substitute for guidance from your own regulator or indemnity provider.
How do I get into the course after buying?
Access opens immediately once payment is complete, and the lessons and downloads remain open to you indefinitely.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Derma Academy provides the course files only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included.
