The programme
Gluteal augmentation with implants
Several sessions focus on buttock enhancement, contrasting anatomical and round devices and including the anatomical MESMO implant. A joint presentation looks at how implant placement can respect and make use of gluteal muscle anatomy.
Microthane breast augmentation
Guillermo Vazquez presents augmentation with polyurethane-foam-coated implants. The discussion centres on why surgeons choose this surface and how it fits into primary aesthetic breast surgery.
Prepectoral reconstruction in the polyurethane implant surgery course
One topic addresses direct-to-implant reconstruction after risk-reducing mastectomy, placing polyurethane anatomical implants in front of the pectoral muscle. It links aesthetic implant experience with oncologic breast reconstruction.
Body contouring trends & gender reassignment
A multi-speaker panel reviews current technical trends in contouring implants. Two further panels cover gender reassignment surgery, including a second series dedicated to male procedures and their anatomical considerations.
Capsulectomy with implant replacement
The series closes with a 2022 workshop on removing the capsule and exchanging the device for a Microthane implant. It is aimed at surgeons managing complications or revising earlier breast augmentations.
Who it’s for
- Plastic surgeons broaden implant-based gluteal and breast options
- Reconstructive surgeons review prepectoral direct-to-implant reconstruction after mastectomy
- Gender-affirming surgery teams hear multidisciplinary panels on male and female procedures
- Spanish-speaking surgeons follow most of the teaching in their own language
The consult
Which language are the sessions in?
Most sessions are in Spanish. Four topics are supplied in both English and Spanish versions, which is why 14 files cover nine subjects; the other sessions are Spanish-only, and the opening MESMO talk carries no language label.
Is this a live-surgery course?
These are recorded academy webinars and workshops from 2019 to 2022. They explain technique and reasoning, but they are not a substitute for supervised surgical training.
Is the content tied to one implant manufacturer?
Yes — the sessions come from the POLYTECH academy and refer largely to that company’s polyurethane-coated and anatomical implants, so expect a brand-specific perspective.
Can I watch immediately after buying?
Yes, all 14 sessions are unlocked once payment goes through and remain yours with no time limit.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Derma Academy provides the course files only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included.
